They bribed the English ones. They gave them skirts, and bag pipes and haggis in exchange for politicians.

The reason why there are so many Celts in top political jobs in UK is because the people of Britain elected a Labour government at the last general election. The Labour party and movement is dominated by Scots with also a very strong Celtic presence of Irish and Welsh. In particular the Scottish Labour Party is run by the Presbyterians - eg Gordon Brown, is probably a Presbyterian also probably the Lord Chancellor of England. The Labour Movement and the Left see themselves as the party most associated with Puritanism [Oliver Cromwell] and what follows from that - the American Revolution and the French Revolution and in England the Chartist Movement of the 19th century.

The Celts are much more politically motivated than are the English. As a Celt [Welsh] myself, I am often surprised by the lack of political interest amongst my English work colleagues and my neighbours.

Man is a political animal - so said Socrates [I think it was he].

John Prescott is Welsh
Tony Blair is Scottish [probably]
David Cameron is Scottish
Ming - Scottish

The place of birth, England, does not make a person English.

Because they stood for election and won.

Also i wasn't aware that Tony Blair was Scottish, or David Cameron and John Prescott?

When you say English politics what do you mean? Westminster is where the government of the United Kingdom resides. That covers England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

As far as I see it the only discrepancy is when Scottish MPs get to vote on matters which only effect English laws.

You can't back up your facts because they aren't facts! The Scottish Parliament is not in fact running Scotland - it merley is able to decide certain aspects of law etc. For example the Parliament cannot raise or lower taxes this is still dependent on the Parliament in London. Our Parliament budiling cost over 440 million pounds and every Scottish person is paying for this through taxes, it is not something every Scot wanted but we got it anyway, so perhaps you should think of this before you ask for your own Parliament. All our lot seem to do is argue and cost us more money! The Courts should decide the law and the rest should be voted upon by every citizen of this country instead of MP or MSP's getting paid a very high wage for doing it and still making a mess of it!

For starters Prescott isn't Scottish. And why doesn't the questioner learn to spell correctly? There is nothing more discouraging than an illiterate posing a serious question that, because it is so badly written and spelt, reduces the subject matter to zero.
At the very least Blair etc can spell and communicate their thoughts and aspirations!

Cameron and Blair are English too. Just because David Cameron has a Scottish name that doesn't make him Scottish - he was born and bred in the land of the Engs - so what is your point?

As Scotland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, they have the right to have their MPs in government the same as the Irish, Welsh and of course those English.

its because we are not a democracy, look back over the last 50yrs and you will see that we are victims of traitors, english traitors, scotts traitors, welsh and irish traitors, The scotts politician were to be kicked out they would be replaced by English traitors who will be just as bad.If we all became seperat,
Fre England Free wales and scotland and north ireland. It would end imigration because the imigration promises were made by britain, England alone could not handle it, and England alone did not make those promises, we would be 4 tiny countries, but our military would have to stay united, in these dangerous time.

Out of the plethora of politicians you name five there are probably more but on a percentage ratio the number is small and in our system of politics its number that count more than position in government. Without the backing of the masses you may as well head of a children's party as much as head of a political party or government.

Because there is no such a thing as "English" politics. The parliament at Westminster is British. And guess what ...? Scots are British.
Also, it's Scottish, not "Scotish".
Get a life.
