Simple. Have something to offer. Offer what you say? Yourself. Offer your time, your ability to listen, share your experiences, just care. If you focus on who you are it will put you in places where you will meet other poeple with common interests and it will take the edge off (if there is one) of you "trying" to make friends. Relax be yourself and it will happen.
