you would die the moment you touched a line because you are still hanging on to the pylon. if you wanted a chance to sit with the birds you would have to jump off the pylon and grab the line once your feet left the pylon.

but the birds would fly away in an instant, leaving you to ponder alone in regret for the last few minutes of your life, because there would be no way for you to get back to safety without turning yourself into a resistor for hundreds of thousands of volts in the process.

but i guess its always better to think of such stupid things rather than try them. have a nice day.

Birds would fly off as soon asyou approached they are selfish and like their own space so you would not have them for company in fact the only birds that will be joining you are the vulture variety. You would electrify yourself and not a pretty site for anyone to see and if you do decide to venture on to pylons DO NOT DO IT IN BIRMINGHAM as if my electric/phones get cut off I will not be happy. How can I use my computor and answer Yahoo if you do that?

Nothing but if you clambered on whilst holding or being even near the pylon metalwork then it's bye bye time! The very high voltage is always seeking an easy path to "earth" and you would be it, even across a gap.

If you could get onto the wire you'd be ok.

But unfortunately you'd not get that far.

As you got near the glass insulators the corona effect would ensure you got fried. The damper the air the further away you'd be.

With Ultra high voltages ( UK supergrid) you'd get about 4 feet from the wire before frying, with very high voltage such as local distribution you'd get about 1 foot away before saying goodbye.

If you didn't fall and break your neck, if you didn't fry on the wires, if the birds didn't peck at you, if the power company didn't prosecute you............. Your mum would give you a thick ear.
