Yes we should. It's hard to resist sometimes becuase you want to show that there are people out there with a different outlook on life and would like to share it with them hoping that they will be less ignorantly hateful. Afterall most of such questions are more rhetorical and posted only to stir up confliction thinking.

You should almost do that on a case by case basis. I tend to ignore most of them; but often a level answer is just as effective. If I do that - I tend to point out, very matter of fact like, that they are being racist or biased, etc.

If they are openly stupid and dangerously provoking then... yes. However, intelligent debate is all for the good. That's the way ignorant people learn.
