Do you feel that our children would be better served taking courses in logic at a young age?

I think there is a need for classes dealing with logic for our elementary/secondary school attendants. Is there a reason this would not be a good idea?

Children would definitely be better served learning logic and creativity, and imagination. The starting age would probably be different for each child, depending on maturity. Some young children are very logical, and upon being forced to conform in public schools, lose that capacity over time, so that despair replaces it, and this suits the community more than it serves the child. Don't even get me started on the problems of US public schools!

I agree that logic needs to be taught. School isn't just about teaching subjects like math and history, it's also about teaching a person to think intelligently. You can see what not teaching a person to think leads to, so I fail to see why this aspect of education is neglected. I can only think the powers to be want a society built off of people who can't think fully, like the Prussian education system, it keeps the population in an easily controled state when knowone is really thinking for themselves, almost child like throughout there life. There is no real bad reason for not teaching that, other than keeping people stupid to profit off of them and maintain a population control like our current pop culture, whats cool vs. whats intelligent. Keep in mind who pays for what and why the world is the way it is.

I don't care about logic. I do, however, think that teaching kids about manners and respect will go further than logic.
I'm old fashion and take offence when children treat their parents and strangers like crap.

they have courses in logic even in kindergarten. its called maths.
