There are many places where visa doesn't work or where they don't want to accept it. I had trouble in greece getting people to accept my visa and I had trouble in Bangladesh also, mostly becasuse they didn't have a lot of advanced technology and frequent power failures. Better have a back up!

yes some places do accept visa electron. but always carry a backup (eg. an extra debit card, cash or travelers cheque).

Yep, its widely used in many parts of the world. Best to carry travelers cheques though. They can be insured and are acceptable in even more places.

Yes, as long as you have a balance "some mony in your account" as you know its a debit not credit card.
