Would you ask them to lose weight?

Nope, although i guess it depends on how fat they were, if they couldn't get out of a chair or walk up stairs then obviously 'yes' for their own health. but being a bit overweight but healthy is fine. everyone has a different opinion about when someone is considered 'fat' some would say that 10lb above average makes you fat, some people consider it more like 8st above average to become fat.
I'd say if it's your girlfriend/boyfriend and they're not morbidly obese don't say anything, he/she will be perfectly aware of their size and shape and more likely to do something about it without feeling like you think their a fat & ugly.

Everyone has a "perfect weight" in their imagination. Very few people really prefer fat bodies. But a little bit of well-rounded flesh means one has something to grab hold of.
I also believe no-one likes skeletons, even if they are the smartest clothes-hangers, or photograph best.
Most sex-objects from the last fifty years were not skinny, but they were also not fat:
Think of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley at their peaks.
So....no, I would not wish a fat partner.

No, no, no.... My girlfriend is on the slightly bigger side but I wouldn't dream of asking her to lose weight, I love her for who she is and the way she is. I have suggested to her doing some exercise and eating healthier, but that's only because she sometimes complains of various pains including back pain (she works as a care worker in a residential home) and I know that doing something to strengthen her body up would help stop her hurting :-)

Yes.

It wouldn't be a reason to break up with the person, but I'd definitely ask them to lose weight. Why? Because being overweight is unhealthy. I'd like my partner to be an active individual who eats more or less healthily. Besides that I'm not sexually attracted to obese people. And I definitely want to be attracted to my partner.

Of course there should be a limit. People who answer that weight doesn't matter never seem to mention if they are dating an obese person. Is 200 pounds ok? Why not 300? or 400? I want to hear from guys who are dating 300+ pound girls long term. And from girls who are dating 350+ pound guys long term. There are plenty of obese people out there. Let's hear from their mates.

if beauty is skin deep, then some people need peeling!
yep, i would lock the fridge/food cupboard & have them running around the block, until they slimmed down.
i have no time 4 the obese, it's self-inflicted, humans only need a limited amount of calories a day.
why oh why do they eat enough 2 feed an army, day after day?
it just doesn't compute!

My husband is a bit overweight and I wold prefer him to be thin. He carries it on his chest and it worries me that it is an indicator of heart disease. I don't mind what he looks like -- I love him dearly and his happiness is more important than having to be food obsessed. But his health worries me.

Beauty is only skin deep.
Would you rather have a thin husband, or a husband who loves you so, so, so, much?
