1978-79 season stats: 57 GP, 318 GA, 6.17 GAA, 12W, 34L, 7T

He was drafted in the second round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders

According to this site, it looks like he wore number 30 during his first season with Medicine Hat. It doesn't seem to give his uniform number for his second and third years there:
