Hard to say...
I'd have to go with Kanye West. I heard every song he's made and like almost all of them. Plus, it isn't watered down with all the BS about money and hoes like other rappers' songs.

Snoop Dogg is the best hip-hop artist because he's not only a rapper but has transcended hip-hop to become a cultural icon. Few other hip-hop artists can claim that they have become a cultural icon that transcends their genre while maintaining the same persona. Diddy got into clothes and is more famous for hanging out with famous people. Ice Cube got into movies and is really more famous as an actor. Snoop Dogg's cultural identity, even as an actor or football coach has never really divested from the core of who he is: A super cool dude that smokes a lot of weed.
He's on the short list of people that ANYONE of any race, color or creed would hang out because it would be guaranteed cool.

I love hip hop but I recently read a book about hip hop culture and I was horrified at what goes on behind the scenes. Most hip hop artists are on XTC or cannabis and use women like they are nothing. But still, the women do let them! Anyhoo, I like a range of artists from DMX to Eminem to Dre to Snoop, I don't have a particular favourite.

Some of the old school that doesnt get the airtime that the commercial one get like E-40, Too Short and real rapper, Scarface very deep personality. the ones that rapper about everything not just hoes and bling bling and cars and the new school rappers are not that talented. REEALLY listen to the lyrics. crap all crap
