I came off the pill 6 weeks ago and thought I was going to start my period last week, so I thought it was ok to have sex with my fiance. My period never came and I had cramps the other day. Now Im feeling bloated and have very sore nipples. We already have a little girl, who is only 7 months old, is it possible to get pregnant so near my period? Help! xx

Yes its possible, but its likely that its just because you got off the pill and your body is regulating itself. Have a pregnancy test.
If you don't want anymore children don't rely on "calender-contraception"

Can you get pregnant during your period?

Answer: It's possible — but highly unlikely. You'd have to have a very short menstrual cycle or an unusual disruption to your cycle. Conception occurs when an egg and sperm meet in a Fallopian tube. Sometime during the middle of your menstrual cycle (most likely between the 12th and 16th days), an egg reaches maturity in one of the two ovaries. The ovary releases the egg into the abdomen, where it's quickly sucked up by the tulip-shaped opening of the nearest Fallopian tube.

An egg can survive in your Fallopian tube for about 24 hours after it's released from the ovary. So the only way you can get pregnant is if sperm are present in your Fallopian tube during this window of opportunity. If the egg isn't fertilized, it's shed along with your uterine lining during your period.

Typically, when you have your period, another egg is developing in preparation for release during the current cycle. But not every woman's cycle length is the same. Many women have a cycle that's about 28 days long, but some have only a 22-day cycle. If you have a shorter cycle, you could ovulate just a few days after you have your period. And considering that sperm can survive in your reproductive tract for up to three days, it's theoretically possible for the sperm to hang around until you ovulate again.

It's also possible to mistake breakthrough bleeding — spotting between your periods — for a regular period. So you may be bleeding right at the time of ovulation, when you're most fertile.

When you come off the pill it takes a few for your period to get right when I stopped taking the pill my periods were irreglar aswell this is completely normal as when you stop taking the pill it takes awhile for your body to adjust so it is less likely you will be pregnant but it is possible, but it sounds like you are going to come on soon with you having cramps and sore nipples and if you are streesing or worrying you won'yt come on so relax and i think you will come on soon but if you don't, take a test and go to the doctors but this is normal when you come off the pill.

Yes it is possible you are pregnant. Most women can have sex without contraceptives for about 5 days after their period. Having sex just before has a much higher chance of pregnancy because the egg is till in your body while just after your body is preparing the next one.

yes it is possible as i concieved my son(now 10) after i had come off the pill 3 mnths earlier and was due on four days after unprotected sex. sore nipples is definitly a sign of pregnancy, but some women get that when they are due on aswell give it a few days and do a home test. good luck.

of course it is possible... but you can only be sure if you see your doctor or make a home test.

Apart from that... I have also experienced irregularities in my period after I came off the pill....
