"The Italian Job" comes to mind, but he looked so hot with a shaved head in "American History X."
Another role of note, just to show his diversity, was the role of Nelson Rockefeller in "Frida." (Ed was dating Salma Hayek at the time).

I loved him as Sheldon Mopes in "Death To Smoochy". He was such a goofy and sincere character and the plot was so wickedly funny. Catherine Keener and Robin Williams were great, too.
