Upto 8GB RAM(DDR2) are now released.
For DDR1 4GB released. I think the best RAM you could buy is that of KINGSTON.
For 4GB it would cost about Rs.6000.

The bigger the single stick, the higher the price. One 512 may cost 119.00 whereas one GIG might cost 300. I know a 2 gig stick for my new Toshiba is nearly 600 bucks! However 2 1 gig sticks are only 200 each...

Don't go and buy before you consult your computers documents.Motherboard may not support more then a limited amount of ram in each slot.
