Can I be honest here - I gave up using Yahoo for POP access after too many import files went missing.

For a better alternative, have a look at Lycos.com. You get a sh*t load more storage room (as well as unlimited attachment-size capabilities). POP access is a paid-for option...a whole $20 per year! And best yet - files don't go missing!

OH - their spam filter is much better too :)

One free approach is to forward all your yahoo e-mails to a hotmail account and configure Outlook with your hotmail. This only works well for receiving. The other way is to pay Yahoo!, and they do have fairly cheap options. The possibility of losing files will be there no matter what company you use. There is a feature that will not delete the e-mail from Yahoo! after you have download it to Outlook. You can verify completion and then delete from Yahoo!

You can received the email from yahoo by outlook but it is not effective to send the email because the SMTP of yahoo is not working absolutely because of avoiding unauthorized abuse. However, you can send out mail by your ISP's SMTP your own computer connected.

(1)Find the POP3 address in yahoo homepage
(2)Find the SMTP address of your ISP
(3)Type the necessary information in the outlook setting you have to use for connection. For all that is, POP3 address(YAHOO), SMTP address(YOUR ISP SMTP), user name(YAHOO), and password(YAHOO).
