Why'd the filmmakers decide to kill them off? Did this ever happen in the comic?

This is to the comment above, How do you know that there will be no X-Men 4?? Are you the filmmaker? Are you the writer of X-men? All I have to say is there are talk of X-Men 4 and who knows where that will lead too? It could all just be talk or there COULD be an X-Men 4. They are not dead. Even in the comic book world it's very much like soap operas. Jean Grey returns even after the Phoenix saga in the comic books and Cyclops has lost his glasses a few times as well in the comic books. Professor X is still alive. I thought the X-Men movies were very entertaining & fun to watch. No comic book fan will ever be fully satisfied with the remakes on the big screen because in films things have to be changed for dramatic effects, as well as visual effects, and cost restraints. All in all, whether you read the comic book or not, X-Men made bank because of all the people who went to see it!

Did you see Scotts body, i saw no body,
Charles had taken the body of a mutant on Muir island.
Jean is the Phoenix she will rise again.
So after the Wolverine movie comes out I'm sure we will
see X-Men 4 on the future.
Did this happen n the comic no but theres so many storyline its hard to keep up Colossus is back in the comic so bring it on for the metal man, yeah!

We still have Spidey and Ghost rider movies 1st

Charles, Jean, and Scott all die... yes. they are thinking about making an X-Men 4 and have it follow up on the rest of the kids at the academy. but, personnaly i hope they never make an X-Men 4...

they should've stopped at X-Men 2. it was good. i think X-Men 3 was sort of mediocre. probably because it wasn't directed by Bryan Singer (like the first 2 movies).

X-Men 3 was directed by Brett Ratner. and he makes good movies. but, i think Bryan Singer should've directed X-Men 3. i think that would've made X-Men 3 a great movie.

But, Mr. Singer was working an Superman Returns which turned out to be crap as well. so, i think he would've been better off just directing X-Men 3.

I hope so. The last film was horrible and I hate the Storm as the leader of the school. I've never seen the cartoon so I don't know how true the movies are to the original source but I think Halle Berry sucked in that role. The only way I think they can salvage the series (writing wise) is to focus on the younger characters. Maybe.

People there will be no X-Men 4. there will only be the two spin-offs that will revolve around Wolverine and Magneto respectively. The studio is leaving the trilogy as it is.It has a beginning and it has an end, there is no need for more.

There will definitely be an X-Men 4. As was mentioned earlier, there two movies involving specific characters--Wolverine and Magneto--that will be coming out in the next year or two.

Don't know if it was me but the Brain Dead Dude looked amazingly like Magneto.

But i've heard there is going to be a X-Men 4 and other spin-offs as well.

Did we actually see Scott die? I don't think we did, did we? they didn't find his body all they found were his glasses.

X-Men can be classed as Sci-Fi can't it? And as everyone knows nobody dies in Sci-Fi.

I don't know if this is true, but my friend the other day was like "I can't wait for the X-Men 4 movie to come out." I was like, "There is going to be another one?" Then he said there was. I don't know if I should take him seriously on that, but still...it would be a wierd movie without them in it.
