Yes, if you are doing a narrative. EG:

Simon is sleeping stage left, he is awoken by the alarm. Rising quickly he realises that he doesn't have to get up as it is a Saturday and hits the snooze button.

Awoken is not an english verb. I see it on TV and it makes me sick that the person on the commercial is not corrected.

Language is organic, words change over time. I would use the terms awoke or awakened, but then there are ads on the TV that say "I was woken by my butler."

the word awoken is not proper english language, it is an improper word that we derived from awaken, or awakened (it is considered slang)
