I want to buy a 1G DDR memory card but there are so many of them... I have a 256mb DDR PC2100 already in and I heard that... say I buy a 1G PC2700 DDR 333 than my motherboard can't handle it because it's a PC2700.....Someone told me to get a PC2100 1G DDR card since I have a 256mb PC2100. I don't even know how much my motherboard can handle.... Does it really matter which DDR card I get....(Memory Card) Can someone please!!!!Thanks!!

The speed issue is not a factor in the sense that they will work together. However, if your motherboard will support PC2700 speed, you should just take the 256 out, that way the 1GB will be able to run at 2700 speed, because if you leave the 256 in, all of them will work at 2100 speed. As for can your computer handle a 1GB card, that is a valid question that you need to look into. To make matters worse, you may or may not be able to use various memory "cards" depending on the version of your motherboard's BIOS software (actually, BIOS software is called "firmware").
Look up your computer / motherboard on the web site of a reputable vendor (your computer's manufactuer, or kingston, etc) and see what they say. Go with their recommendations.
Last thing -- people who upgrade their PC are very very likely to buy a new one within 2 months. Just a thought.

Go here and get all your answers including how much your system can handle and what type. Then buy it anywhere.
