she left 20 years ago, and please don't say why bother looking, i only want closure, and yes i am sure that i do. anyway, i am wondering if anyone knows of a good way, i have even paid the $60 search and sent out about 12 letters to the addresses i got, with no responses. she may not want to be found, or i may not have found her, but either way, i am determined to. i have a friend who found her father through some organization, very small, i want to say it was called ALMA? anyway, i can't find any info on them, does anyone know of them, or some other similar organization i could go through? i really need to find her (physical address i can go to preferably), if for nothing else than closure. thanks in advance!

When my mom needed to find my dad who we hadn't seen for 5 years or so she hired a private investigator and that worked very well, those guys can find anyone, sometimes they can find people who have changed there names, identitys, addresses etc.

the only problem is they are fairly expensive, probably your best chance though

otherwise you could try to go to the addresses yourself it is possible her father is hiding her from you didn't get your letter or just doesn't know where she is....it really would depend on how far you want to go with that it doesn't sound like that lead is very reliable

I was able to find someone for a relative. (don't want to expose them on here).

It took many months of mind numbing searching. I started with people I knew had died that were related to the person. With their date of birth and approximate date of death, I searched the social security database and found last know address, mostly for elderly that had been receiving soc sec at the time of their death. Then I looked for relatives in those cities that were still living to narrow down the search. I made thousands of phone calls, and finally found the person I was looking for.

I have extra time on my hands right now if you want help, email me. I can only try though, no promises.

I understand why you would feel there would be some sort of closure in finding her. But it requires a profound emotional disturbance for a woman to abandon her own child. What you find could be much more upsetting than just accepting that she left.

Whatever you do, best of luck to you. I think I understand how you feel.
