Try cellitused.com. They buy old cell phones, well new ones too and give you a fairly decent price for some phones. THey send you a pre paid envelope to mail them the phone.

I just heard a report a couple of days ago that information can be retrieved from a cell phone even if a program to delete it has been used. If you have really personal information on your cell, I'd never re-sell to anyone at any time. The money from the phone won't begin to cover the possible loss of privacy and possible identity theft!

Selling or giving your cell phone to another person is very safe. The average user will not know how to get any information from the SIM chip that is in the phone, so just erasing the data should be sufficient.

But if you are still afraid, the best thing to do is to just remove the SIM chip. This is where all the data is stored. People will still buy phones without SIM chips.

Good luck. Email me if you have futher concerns. law@skool.com

As long as you delete all the files and folders in you phone, then nobody could steal your personal information. At times it's useless to restore your phone to default setting as that will not delete your personal data. Delete your phone's SMS - Inbox, Outbox, Draft, Sent & MMS - Inbox, Outbox, Draft, Sent folder. Also in your GPRS, do delete the "cache" as that may have some sensitive data. It all depends on the phone models and manufacturers, but most their basic ideas are the same. Sometime your phone may have "Reset" function which may clear all the data stored on the phone's ROM, if you have this function then use it! But after "reset" it do check you phone book and Inbox (etc.) to check all data is cleared :) Selling it on eBay is a way of getting some money $$ back but do take note that amount u get is very little depends on the model itself. Sometimes people may get hold of used phone for backup purpose, who knows one morning your fashionable 3G Color phone failed you :)
Cheers!

Selling your old cell phone on Ebay is NEVER a good idea. I don't know of anyone who ever bought a cell phone on eBay who was ever satisfied.

Here is the BEST thing to do with old cell phones: Take your phone and its chargers to Staples; they have bins there to donate your old cell phone to charities, mostly to women's shelters.

Any more, cell phones become obsolete after 1 year; however, your old cell phone can help someone in a domestic violence situation.

It's possible if not too old. It's a good move too. Try creating an account with false infos. If failed, then u've no choice but 2 put in ur real info. But I don't think they will steal ur info. I've been selling stuffs on ebay 4 arnd 3 yrs & i didn't see anybody get hold my info. I've put in my real info, not false info.

I bought my Sidekick 2 on ebay....and have been very satisfied with it. when i wanted to sell it because i upgraded to Sidekick 3 i listed on cragslist and was able to stay anonymous and meet the person. It was a free listing and I didn't have to provide any personal information to cragislist or the guy who purchased the phone.

I have sold 3 phones on ebay.. Motorola A1000, E1000, E680.

none of my buyers has any complaints on it. the thing to do is take the SIM card out of the phone. but before that.. do a master reset and a master clear on the phone first.. delete pictures/songs/contacts or anything else is on the phone.

as of the personal information. anythings possible but not probable

I have bought several cell phones on eBay and never been
cheated with the exception of some sellers who charge
unreasonable postage charges.

so long because the cellular doesnt have the SIM card you're utilising right this moment, you've draw close resetted or draw close cleared the phone (this deletes all of your own information on the phone), and marketed what organization became your provider (compatibility with shoppers provider) then you definitely must be ok . seem for the draw close reset option on your guide or in basic terms mess round with the menu till you stumble on it.
