the page consists of little "windows" that you can remove under page options (but i think that function is down at the moment). you can select what content you want or don't want on your page.

You can remove modules you don't want by clicking on the little x on the upper right of the module (e.g., the mail preview module). You can add new modules by clicking on the "add content" link (next to the plus sign, on the left of the page). You can move modules around by clicking on the "change layout" link (next to the "add content" link).
Furthermore, you can have more than one page. Click on "my new page" to create a new page. You can then move some stuff there.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Do you mean the size of the text? If so go to "view" then go to "zoom" and reset the size.

you should set your desktop resolution to 1024x768
