Digestion is a very complex process. It requires great mental and physical balance. Whenever you are in stress condition of any kind, your brain tries to coordinate with the stress management and digestion. But most of the times, when we are in great stress, the brain fails to coordinate these processes thus indigestion occurs. Same thing occurs during examination time.
It is clear that the digestion greatly depends upon the mental health of a man so keeping one self happy and tension free, one can enhance his/her digestive health.

ill give this a try. i think it has something to do with the hormonal secretion. yes. they pointed out the anxiety and fear. and i think these reactions are caused or cause hormonal secretions which act on the sympathetic nervous system which in turn inhibits digestive processes in the body.
my friends and i and lots of people i know usually do not eat heavy meals minutes before the exam. we do it about an hour or two before the exam. avoids indigestion and all focus is on the brain during the exam instead of dividing it between digestion and brain activity when you eat just minutes before the exam.

i think maybe it's bcoz of the hardwork and pressure, trying to study all day, all night, ignoring what food to eat, what beverage to drink.. it also has to do with stress and tension, trying to overcome fears of failing..
