I am looking to put about 40-50 GB of memory on my computer and I do not knowwhat to look for...can someone tell me?

I use my computer for Videos and Media and it is getting close to full, and I am trying to find out about how much it would cost and what exactly to look for in order for me to down load freely with out haveing to worry for a while.

you can't add GB's to an existing harddrive. You need to get a second harddrive and use it as a secondary drive to store all your downloads. I have a second 120GB harddrive that I keep all my music, videos, and downloads on. I think the smallest you can buy now a days is 80 GBs

if You have Alot Of Stuff ou Dont Want To Lose I Suggest Purchasing 3 or more Hard Drives And Use A RAID 5 Configuration
If A Drive Fails You Wont Lose Anything.

Keep In Mind That You Will Have A Total Capacity Equalt To The Storage Times The Number Of Drives Minus 1.

Given 5 Drives At 120 GB Each You'd Have
120 x (5-1) = 120 x 4 = 480 GB

I'd upgrade to the biggest hard drive you can get. The new 750 gig hard drives (seriously!) are out for around $400.

Have your local computer geek copy your current hard drive to the new hard drive, or add the new one as a seconard hard drive.

You mean storage not memory. Pick up an external hard drive that doesn't require an additional power supply. usb compatible

You're gonna want to go RAID on it... and buy big drives... then use a Raid 0 to make it one hugh drive... or Raid 5 to make a mirror'ed drive.... for backup sake.

Or use a lot of machines to make a cluster.... that'd be fun.
