Tragically very few things have ever stopped countries from going to war. If only we could live in a system of politics governed more by feelings than by wallets and pride perhaps love for your fellow man would stop you from going to war instead of an extra drum of oil. Our lives have become so attached to war that it will be increasingly harder and harder for future generations to put a stop to them. People today have began to fall in love with war and romanticize it into stories and movies even though there is no true romance in being ordered into a bombed-out building to haul out bodies so that your government can get a correct number of casualties inflicted with each blow from one touch of a button. Even before in the "days of old" when war was supposedly fought for love and honor it was horrific and there was no love between the victors for very long. In my opinion which is slowly becoming unpopular, the only stop would be divine intervention.

In modern times, you won't find two countries that are trading partners going to war with each other, but I'm not writing your essay for you.
