Probably best to wait 6 weeks

When you go for your six week check-up at your midwife or ob/gyn, make sure you ask this question.
It isn't advised that you have intimate relations for six weeks weeks after giving birth because your body is still healing. Ask for advice about exercising also.
Your doctor/midwife will probably advise that you start slowly in the beginning. It's great though that you want to stay in shape!
GOOD LUCK!

I know this sounds silly, but isn't the whole childbirth thing one gigantic exercise?

Your doctor might have some ideas. Obviously it would depend on what you went thru. C-section? lots of stiches? other medical complications?
