Has anyone noticed that when you have a boyfriend/girlfriend that you don't date for long you NEVER fight?? Its like the person you are committed to argues with you the most.
I am engaged to the most wonderful man on earth, and we seem to butt heads every once in a while. There is a saying that goes something like this: "The more a couple argues about small things, it brings them closer together."
Does anyone think thats true, or am I just going out on a limb here? I mean, if you argue, there MUST be love there, am I not right? If you didn't care, you wouldn't argue I don't think. Meh...oh well. I guess I will shut up now and let someone answer this, lol.

That's true, the fact that your able to fight shows that you trust the other peson with sharing your feelings and opinions. If you got along all the time, that just means that one of you is not comfortable enough to share his/her true feelings and opinions.

Look; your engaged to the guy, you might as well get things out in the open on an honest level like you're doing, which all couples go through. It's healthy, and you find out the opinion of your spouse to be, and the same for him. It's a matter of learning to deal with a new opinion. Just remember that no opinion is really wrong/right, just different. Everyone sees the world in many different ways.
This will be a good time to go to a marriage councilor before you get married that way you can find out if you're truly suited for eachother.
I have heard some couples that have done this.

well when were with some one so much we can but heads..
everyone has there opinion and wants to be heard..
as for as dating and not seeing someone for a while, you don't argue cuz your only focused on the here and now and sometimes what might come at the end of the nite..
your not worried about anything else, b/c your life doesn't intertwine
i have been with my hubby for 7 years .. we have had our share of fights some bigger than others all turns out over nothing..lol
but i never regret the day i met him 8 years ago online..
I'm sure i haven' really answered your question but do me 1 favor, never go to bed angry, if y'all don't live together that's fine just make up b4 you each go to sleep in your own homes..

Of course you butt heads. Every couple does that. My husband and I have been married for 40 years and have had our share of fights and arguements. What counts is the way you resolve those disagreements. Don't ever go to bed without making up. It is ok to disagree. You are two different people. It is not about being right. I would rather be with my husband than be right and alone.
