...in a positive or negative way?

I don't wanna hear about the first time you did "woohoo", or got drunk, or any crap like that...
Maybe it wasn't a big, "lightning-bolt" kind of thing...maybe it happened over time.

Not trying to make conversation--just taking a survey, about life-altering events.

Yes. I had been in a very bad car accident and I asked my husband to buy me some ice cream because my face was too badly bruised to eat solid food and I thought the cold would help the swelling. He came home and said that ice cream wasn't on sale and he'd go to another store the next day. I immediately thought "I deserve full price!" It was the first time that I ever consciously thought I deserved anything. Since then I've been much more aware of how I neglect and even mistreat myself.

Yeah, someone got into a jealous rage over something TOTALLY imaginary and he tried to strangle me, but stopped before he killed me. Boy did it ever change my life. I quickly developed a keen awareness of potential violence in people and I now sense and avoid these people like they have the plague.

My parents died in a car accident, when I was 26 and it truly changed my life forever. I live everyday for my children and husband and I try to never take anything for granted.

first i'd like to say that the "first time" tends to be very mind altering. point of view tends to change quite a bit. as for first time you got drunk, same thing, it can change someone's life. personally, i'd say it was being left there for her ex, who was an asshole who used her. kinda lowers someone's esteem in love, if she loved you so much she had to leave you for the asshole.

Yes. I was wounded in Vietnam and the physical results changed my life. It may have been a good thing, though - my life has been quite good, all things considered.
