I am so not motivated to get rid of things I don't need. The place is relatively clean, but my room and back porch are being treated as storage.

Oh I am so behind that sometimes I wish for a match! I have flat surface disease. Things are growing out of the top of my flat surfaces. You know, like magazines, empty envelopes, earrings, canceled checks, old receipts, etc. Then, there's the boxes. You know, the boxes of stuff that you swept off the table when company came over unannounced, that got tossed into the bathtub until they went home? Then you put it in the spare bedroom until you "got around to it". Thing is, I have lots of "round tuits" to go with my boxes, which are still full. Sound familiar? Oh yeah, and I found a couple of forks that fell off one of my flat surfaces when I was shoving all the junk to make room for more. But, I was a good girl today and cleaned most of my kitchen, so at least I can see my counters again. Tomorrow, I'll work on the dining room table (yeah, right!). Gotta find the dog's leash anyway. <*)))><

I think everyone gets in those moods where you have so much to do but really dont feel like doing it. I was that way for a few days I didnt let my house get dirty there was just some stuff that I needed to do but didnt get done because I didnt have the energy. But i just got up after the day I let everything go and did it even though I had no energy to do it by the time I was done I was looking for more stuff to clean also I have 2 boys so sometimes I dont have the energy after taking care of them all day

I'm 18 and my mom is just like you. Can't get rid of anything!! I'm trying to make the house look better getting things organized and such. I don't know bout u, but most people are motivated to get money so I suggest having a garage sale. That'll clear up some junk you have around the place.

Believe it or not, for a single straight guy.....I have a really clean house. OK, granted I hire a cleaning service that comes in once a week, but I do my fair share. Tonight, instead of going out to the watch the game with my buddies, I stayed home and cleaned the bathroom, did laundry, and did the dishes. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but thats pretty good for a guy.

I have a big house, five bedrooms, large basement, and out buildings including a 130' barn. I have stuff that goes back at least as far as the Civil War, but most of it is junk. It's junk I'm sentimental about. We got a big dumpster about three years ago, and we usu sally fill it up every week, but it hardly makes a dent! It seems like some of the bedrooms are all books or stuff by decade.

I wasn't motivated either, until I realized that half of my "junk" I no longer needed or used was worth a small fortune on ebay. Also for books and CD's some places locally might buy them back. For me that motivation helped.

Not really.
Have a little laundry to do. And dusting. And better unpack/repack that dishwasher (I LOVE that machine).
But since I found FLYlady's website http://www.flylady.net things have dramatically improved around here, even with two small children! Messes are no longer a drama ...
But the FLYlady is not for everyone, you either love her or you hate her ...

Laundry is my nemesis. I don't mind washing, drying, and folding, but I hate putting it away. There's always a couple of baskets of clean laundry sitting in my living room.

I have the most cluttered garage in town. It is so bad I hate to go in there and no one will help me get rid of stuff!
