It's a northern territory in Canada.

You should not be so surprised that some people do not know. Not everybody is from there any may not have learnt about that. For example do you know where the Kruger National Park is without looking it up? Its all relevant and local knowledge. It does not make the person dumb but just not up to speed. If they learn from it (ie somebody tells them) then that is all that matters!
