For a bit after having a baby, most women still look 4-6 months prego. Nursing and drinking LOTS of water really REALLY helps. Plus, besides all the health benefits for baby, it also decreases ur chances of breast cancer. Anyhoo... I nursed my daughter for a year. I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few months, even though I had gained 40lbs with my pregnancy. Even though I am down to only about 120lbs now, I still dont have that nice flat tummy anymore. Thats the tuff part. Some women, never lose their weight. Others are like my friend who just gave birth a month ago and is already in a size 5.

With my first daughter, I gained 45 lbs and in about 3 mo. I had lost 50 lbs. And I kept losing after that, so dont worry about the weight. Just plan to eat sensibly and keep active & exercise.

I had my second daughter 6 weeks ago, and its not so easy this time. I gained 60 lbs, and have only lost about 30/35 so far.

I breastfed and lost the weight within a few months. I ended up weighting less after the baby than before the pregnancy. The hard part was keeping it off!

My pre-pregnancy weight was 105 pounds and by the time i gave birth i weighed 145 pounds. Three to 4 months after giving birth my jeans and skirts still did'nt fit. I couldn't even get it pass my hips. At first i got depressed because seeing my mom, in her very pear-shaped body, i thought i was doomed and destined to be that big. I could'nt diet at that time because i was breatfeeding. I had to eat nutritiously and drink lots of juice and at least 2 to 3 glasses of milk a day. At some point i even accepted my fate of being fat as my mom, i put away my old jeans. But still i hoped that some day those size 26 jeans would still fit me. So i went with the day-to-day chores and responsibilities of being a wife and mom, until around my son was 10 months old , when people would say that i looked thinner than before. You see after accepting my fate, i wasn't monitoring my weight anymore, i have'nt been weighting myself. After hearing those comments from friends i was suprised that i weighted 112 pounds! with mixed feelings of excitement and dread i got all my old jeans and guess what?! I got the pants all the way to my waist, it was still a little difficult to button the jeans but hey, just a little dieting would help. I stopped breatfeeding when my son was 8 months old because he doesn't like it anymore, his new formula milk was sweeter by comparison and he was eating semi-solid foods by that time Now, my son is 18 months old and i'm so glad that i'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I even lost weight because of my work, i'm a resident physician, and with the few sleeps that i get together with being a wife and mom i now weight 102 pounds.

Hello,

Well, I am 5'2". Before giving birth to our twin daughters, I weighed 120. In the first month of being pregnant, I lost 2lbs, then gained it back, plus 18lbs.

I only gained 18lbs during my whole pregnancy. With my height and the fact that I was carrying twins, for me personally, I did not have room for growth, outwards, sideways or babywise.

So, after giving birth to my twins, about two months later, I lost all my weight and actually went down to 113. Where I am today.

Hope this helps you.. :-)

it is not secure to attempt and drop some pounds 'quickly.' you will, of path, lose extremely lots today after beginning -- the load of the toddler, placenta, fluid and so on, and a few water weight. something of it is going to come off extremely progressively ... in basic terms because it went on. eat sensibly, breastfeed if in any respect achievable, and exercising as you experience able. you do no longer could desire to be stressing your physique with crash diets or severe exercising on a similar time as improving from childbirth and taking good care of a newborn.

Yes breastfeed! I gained a whopping 100 lbs lost it all in a year. I just had a second kid and gained 70 lbs so far i lost 30 and its only been two months. Probably also has something to do with genes.

By breastfeeding, I got into my pre-pregnancy clothes two weeks after giving birth, but I did NO exercises or anything to help me lose weight, it fell off by itself, but I was lucky enough not to gain a huge deal of weight anyway.

It depends on the person, I've never had kids, but I took a parenting class at school ( as an elective) and they mentioned that if you breast feed you drop the weight faster.

After my first baby, I went home from the hospital in my regular jeans...so not to worry....Just don't ask me about the second one! ha ha ha..but that wasn't the pregnancy's fault, it was the ice creams! It took me a year to get it off.
