I sure can sympathize with you!! I moved from North Carolina to Florida a little over a year ago and I thought I was a country girl!! OMG!! There are lizards everywhere and they get into the house easily...I've seen several snakes in the back yard, and I live in the city limits!! I've never had any sort of pests in any home I've ever lived in and we have roaches here. I've battled those *&%&$@#&*^&(*$#&^&%(&^% things with every imaginable concoction to no avail!! I'm as disgusted as you!! Personally, I'm ready to call in the calvary! I love my new home, but the critters are almost more than I can take!! I wish you luck and I'm gonna keep an eye out on this for some solutions....meantime at least you can know you're not alone!! Divide and conquer!!

This sounds like sabotage. Is someone mad at you? Did you just break up with someone?
If you never had any trouble before, and this is a personal pet peeve of yours, it just seems a little coincidental. Especially the sunflower seeds. Mice (and the rest of these ugly bugs) don't carry food around with them. It had to be placed there.
Consider changing your locks and bolting your windows. Check under your house for any debris that would attract them.
Weather changing from warm to cold also drive pests inside.
So does the dirty habits of neighbors. If a neighbor has done some landscaping or cleared up a standing mess (or cleared bushes), the now homeless critters want new digs. Ya dig? (sorry couldn't help it, bad me, bad!)
I would call around for estimates on exterminators. They will be able to clean out the bugs and prevent future infestations.
Traps and baits work well, get them at hardware stores.
Good Luck and I am shivering in sympathy for you. That is so yucky!

If somebody near you has cockroaches they spread when they get overcrowded or their water and food supply dry up. best to get an exterminator to come in and spray. If you can not do that i have heard of people using a borax dry solution mixed with something that you put into milk caps for the roaches to crawl on and take back to their nest. as for the mice decon works nicely. But if you have pets do not put any of these poisons down where they cane get into them. You can also buy some bombs to set off in your house for the bugs. good luck. You also could have brought the roaches in from a store or laundry mat.

Other than the cockroaches you can 'cure' the problem yourself.....but when you see one cockroach there are thousands more ! You will HAVE TO CALL someone in ,in order to rid the roach problem. It's that time of year,it's getting cold out and the critters are just looking for some place to cozy up to for the winter, but not in your house.

Best of luck!

I think it has to do with the weather we've had this year, many people in the home and garden forum have complained about the same things and I have had many more pests than usual.
Maybe they will all go away during the winter

Sounds like someone has put a curse on you. Try putting a ring of salt around the house and reading aloud from the bible in every room for 12 nights
