Salt or Borax sprinkled on the floor (carpet or hard floors), left for a while, then vacuumed will kill the fleas *and the eggs*. Treat your furniture as well. You may have to repeat this a few times. Wash all your clothing with regular laundry soap and Borax. If you use shampoo and lotions with lavender in it, it will not only act as a repellent, but help sooth bitten skin.

The Foggers are a quick way of killing them but it takes only one blood meal for a flea to lay eggs. There is the trouble the eggs are hard to kill. Once fogged get a spray with a Flea growth regulator and spray. If you don't they will reappear in a few days. Even if you don't have pets you can get them. Some years they can be bad. They are probably in your yard an you can treat that to. Most common I think to the USA is the cat flea. Here is a good site to read more on them an their control . Or do a search on Fleas. This year where I live is a bad one. I hate to say it but we drug them in on our clothes from the yard. I use to have livestock and have a hatred for the little buggers.

Try 'bombs' that kill fleas, but make sure they will kill the flea larvae also. You want to break the flea life cycle.

Wash all washable fabrics in hot water, vacuum the house with mothballs in the vacuum bag/canister. The fleas will die in the vacuum.
