Yeah you can lose inches that way for sure.
If you just do weights and muscle exercises you will tone up, maybe lose some inches but you won't lose much if you have a big ol' layer of fat there that you need to lose.
You'd need to do cardio. Then again if you get too much muscle you'll actually gain inches, but that will probably take a long time.

if you eat healthily and workout, then yeah, unless you've got a medical issue. But you gotta eat right for your body. For instance, protein, if you live in the U.S., you're probaly getting more than enough of that, so don't eat much more. You need carbs, lots of those, because carbs produce glucose (from what I can remember from class), and glucose is what keeps your body running.

Heck yes!More importantly it's not about losing inches. It's about your heart rate. As long as you're not super duper lazy and get tired easily and live an active lifestyle then it doesn't matter how much fat you carry. you'll probably lose it anyways.

plenty of exercise. i go on bike and rowing machine and have done for a month ten mins a day on both and have lost weight and inches. have had to buy new trousers (smaller waist)
