Talk to your doctor and get his opinion

Four years without a siezure is a really awesome thing, I bet you feel a whole lot better for it as well. It shows that the meds are working well for you.
That being said, it's still there - it's not going to go away & you seem really aware of that.
I don't think anyone on here could really definiatively tell you "yes you'd be fine" or "no - don't do it" because it's something that you & your doctor should discuss.
I have one friend who drives, she's like you - hasn't had a fit in years & is pretty comfortable with it. I also have another friend who has really bad siezures quite often (at least every couple of months) & no amount of tinkering with the meds have helped but at least it's not weekly like it used to be. He has no desire to drive because he knows it just isn't a good idea.
Think it through, ask your doc & come up with what's right for you.

I am in a similar situation. I have diabetes and have been in a few bad situations while behind the wheel. I now check my blood sugar before I drive, to ensure the safety of myself and others.

I realize that you can't predict when you will have a siezure; but if you can control your epilepsy with medication, I see no problems. The point is that you must control it. If you can't keep control, then do everyone a favor and not drive.

If you do feel a siezure begining, stop the car as quickly and as safely as possible. Police might accuse you of DUI, but carry proof of your condition and they might change the charge to reckless driving (unless you actually are DUI).

Driving is not all it's cracked up to be. Think about public transportation. It's cheaper than gas at today's prices, not to mention, the different and nice people you meet. You will, also, be contributing to keeping our environment cleaner and reducing the amount of traffic that drives everyone "crazy". Remember, if you do decide to drive, it's not only you that will be on the roads.

You will have to be more aware. Yes it is okay for you to drive. I have a friend who has epilepsy and he drives. If he is having a bad week he doesn't drive. Most of the time he is fine and he happens to have an excellent driving record. Good luck to you!

If your doc, the law and your parents say okay, then it's up to you to decide.

We ALL take a risk every single time we get on the road!

You have a mature and responsible attitude - which is important for a driver to have.

It's a 50/50 chance, you should really base this kind of decision on what you think or feel is better rather than what we think, or maybe you could talk to your doctor and he could give you a better idea on whether or not it would be safe.
