I can't believe how many people think that Peyton Manning is overrated. He might be the best quarterback to ever live. Seriously, by the time he retires he'll probably have shattered every major quarterback record. He's also about as consistent a QB as you can find, almost never has a bad game. As for all the people who say John Elway is overrated. He played for 15 years and never seemed to lose a step. If anything, he seemed to get better. He inherited a Broncos team that was awful and turned them into a perennial contender. Not to mention he lead them to FIVE superbowls and won two of them. But Anyway...

Overrated - Joe Namath, Ben Rothlisberger
Underrated - Mark Brunell, Randall Cunningham

For underrated I would go with Moon and maybe Randall Cunningham. Cunningham was one of the best running QBs/double threat, and this was before it was so popular like it is now. Now how can you say Elway. He is only remembered as the two superbowl titles not the THREE LOSSES before that. He wasn't that great but guessing you must be a Broncos fan
Marino WASN'T overrated. He was that good. He held those records with bad teams.
Now truly overrated, Peyton Manning. Steve Young, nothing against him but look at the team he inherited yeah he had pressure but come on. Vick is overrated in today's league. Namath was overrated. I could proably find some more if I looked.
Also how is Ben overrated, as to the fans expect him to come back HMMM can you say 154 QB rating in the time played against teh Chiefs and Falcons. Oh gee he DID come back before he got hurt.
OK I just want to point out for the one guy Bradshaw went 4 for 4. Putting 4-4 can be confusing and lead people to think it was 4 wins and 4 losses. Now people say how can Peyton Manning be overrated. Simple he losses in the playoffs all the time. Yeah he is one of the best regular season QBs but what does he do after that? He has the teams yet can't win the big one. Then one said Brady because what has he done this year? Please tell me that was a joke. You don't go on ONE YEAR. Espically SIX games in. You go by the CARRER.

Hmmmm. I agree with him for Bradshaw, Stabler and Romo. Kind of. But come on, JOE NAMATH!!! BRETT FAVRE!!! Look at the numbers!!! Farve alone over the last 5 games has a qb rating of 121 pt something!!! Give me a frickin break!!! Is he trying to say that he isn't really completing these passes? We just THINK he is cuz' he's a good ol' boy? The statements he made of them two just totally ticked me off. Makes him sound like a blow hole that doesn't know what he's talking about. Sal sounds like an arm chair quarterback superstar wanna be. Namath and Favre will go down in NFL history which they BOTH totally deserve.

I would go with Farve as overrated and Terry Bradshaw as underrated.

I'm not sure how anyone could call Montana underrated, he's pretty much universally acclaimed as the greatest QB of all time (which he probably was).

Terry Bradshaw went 4-4 in the Super Bowl, but he's never mentioned on ESPN as one of the greatest QBs of all time... Farve is, even though he's only won ONE Super Bowl, and that against a team that had no business being there anyway. He also lost one.

Elway was also over-rated. He got his a$$ kicked in three Super Bowls before he won his last two, and even as he was getting his butt kicked, ESPN was STILL calling him the best QB ever (now they call Farve the best ever). When did winning cease to be important in evaluating QBs?? So he had a great drive against Cleveland... that was CLEVELAND, people! Who the hell CAN'T drive the length of the field to beat them in a playoff game?

I think Joe Namath was probably over rated as well... his legend was bigger than his numbers. He did win one Super Bowl against a heavily favorded Colts team, but that was it for him. Injuries stopped him from putting up some better career numbers...

I'm not sure how you call Manning over rated because he hasn't won anything, and then turn around and say Brees is under-rated... Brees hasn't won anything either.

Bradshaw is the most under-rated QB in history... all he did was win the big one...four times. But you'd never know that if all you watch is ESPN.

Overrated: Daunte Culpepper. He can't play unless he has a receiver like Randy Moss to throw to, and a front line to hold the defense for hours while he tries to figure out what to do.

Underrated: Brad Johnson. He doesn't put up big numbers, but he gets the job done. He knows what to do and when to do it, and is one of the smartest QB's in the league.

The most overrated QB is Tom Brady. He hasn't done anything for NE this year.

The most underrated is Phillip Rivers, He is leading the chargers to a solid year.

Manning is overrated. He hasnt won anything! Hasn't been to a super bowl!!! MANY FANTASY TITLES THOUGH FOR TEAMS. Underrated would have to be Brees. No one is talking about him now that hes away from Chargers but helping the Saints big time..

sorry I guess this isnt history but current times.
