I would like to know if this is still a good age to start doing flips. Is there another way to learn them without doing gymnastics? Handstands too, maybe?

It's not too late. You won't become an Olympian but lots of cheerleaders don't really start doing that stuff until high school.

There is never such thing as too late or too early. Every body is different. Most gymnasts are short and musclar, I'm short and musclar too, but when I attempt to do backflips, handstands, etc I end up hurting myself. All I needed was pratience, practice, and a good person to spot me. Hopefully, you have all three things to guide you through your way. =)

its never too late... unless maybe if your over 40, 0r 50.... but it will be better if you have some gymnastic expiriences, i mean people say 8 or below is the best time to lear ballet, (wich helps gymnastics ALOT with balance and splits...) but does it really matter if you want to start?
anyway, point is, no, your never too "old" to start most the things.

Also, the older you start, the longer for you body to learn the gymastic stuff

Well it depends, if you are really skinney and short, than yeah learn them, but if you are tall and fat, them maby not. But you should take a gymnastics class, cuz some people just aren't made to do flips.

They aren't called flips, they're called tucks

It's not too late, it never is, you just will probably have to work a little bit harder because most people start at young ages.

I am not familiar with Olympic standards or anything, but I wish to give you immense encouragement. DO IT! if you want to do it don't let anyone tell you you're too old or too inexperienced. you will have to work harder than most, but if you want it, GO FOR IT!!! Good luck to you.

You could start at this age, but it would be a little harder. It might take you longer, but if you're determined and stick to it, sure you could do it
