It's just part of the liberal bias of Hollywood. Men are always portrayed as pigs that can't do anything right, and women are God's gift to the Human race. You'll NEVER see another pleasant old-fashioned sitcom like "Father knows Best" ever again!

This is just not true. Ever since the Honeymooners men have been getting griped at. Raymond, Doug Heffernen, Al Bundy, Fred Flintstone et al....they all get nagged to death by their wives. Hey wait a minute. You ARE right!!! Now I know why they are all unhappy!!!!!!!!! Thank you!

because those women on those shows are pretending just like most wives pretend to be happy, because after men get comfortable in their relationship they stop trying to make their wives happy, .... but the women are pretending to keep a happy home, then they cry in private..... and in turn the men are not unhappy with their wives they are unhappy with themselves that they let themselves go , most of them turn into beer belly blubber, so whats to be happy about???

because even though hollywood is "breaking barriers" they still have social norms to compete with. this means that it is not as pleasing to the viewer to see suzy homemaker be unhappy, whereas it is ok for big jim to be displeased and wanting more. On the other hand...you should watch desperate housewives... lol

Because most television sitcom screenwriters are single males. After they marry, then they produce and write for shows like "Thirtysomething" and "Huff" that glamorize marriage and make it look wonderful.

Probably because they are almost all written by men. It's a very good question. I want to know why almost all the men are fat slobs and their drop dead gorgeous perfect wives just smile and stay by them.
