wife : Generally cos my mum has had a nice long life and my wife hasn't lived as long.
Same applies with kids - they haven't had a chance to enjoy life yet so should be given the chance.

Wife, hands down. I love my Mom, but come on. Don't go all Oedipus Rex on me.

From a fleshly point of view, this is a difficult point of view. Hopefully, no one has to face this dilemma. Should you meet this situation, you first of all want to make sure that you are alive, so as to be able to save others. You cannot save anyone if you are dead. Secondly, you would want to save whoever you reach first, for you have no way of knowing if the other one is still alive. Let’s assume that you were forced to make this choice by Satan or the Devil;----then you would have to respond by taking a stand on the side of God. In short, you would do only that which God would want you to do, even if it means surrendering your life as a penalty for disobeying Satan or the Devil.

From a Spiritual point of view, you would need to be prepared ahead of time if one was to know for sure that this scenario would materialize into a reality. You need to equip yourself with the accurate knowledge of the word of god and be able to understand what God requires from each one of us. There is a warranty for success including being able to make the correct decision. This unfailing warranty is given in Psalm 1:1-3 ---“Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones, --------------- But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, And in his law he reads in an undertone day and night. 3 And he will certainly become like a tree planted by streams of water, That gives its own fruit in its season And the foliage of which does not wither, And everything he does will succeed.”
You and your wife are one homogenous entity, just as your mom id with your dad. Spiritually, you and your wife are one body and one flesh. Would you not want to save yourself first, if this scenario was to arise? If your wife is part and corpuscle of you and you and your wife constitute same entity, then you would save yourself first and yourself also means your wife. Recall why you and your wife are ‘one and the same’. It is written --
'-------a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart."—Matthew 19:4-6. Also recall Ephesians 5:28 ------“ Let each one of you [husbands] individually so love his wife as he does himself. Also note that Jesus said that the greatest commandment for humans is to love Jehovah, and he said that the second-greatest commandment is, "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39) A married person's closest neighbor is his or her marriage partner, for nothing on earth can unite two individuals as marriage can. Then Paul adds –“To the married people I give instructions, yet not I but the Lord, --that a wife should not depart from her husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:10.

So from a Spiritual perspective, you should now have no doubt whom god would want you save first, despite the deep love you have for your mother. Finally, I admonish you to seek wisdom as for a treasure and "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” (James 4:8) Yes, our Creator invites us to have a close personal relationship with him, and those who do never fail to sense his support even in the most difficult situations.
