Please do lots of research. They make good pets, but they have lots of dietary and other requirements to make them happy and healthy. You don't want to make any tragic mistakes.
They're banned in California (where I live) and I'm so bummed. I really want one!

Yes, they are absolutely adorable. They are becoming less common in English gardens and it is very sad. They have beautiful eyes, eat snails and slugs and they are nocturnal. Read the book Miss Jaster's Garden. It is a children's book, it is responsible for my love of hedgehogs to this day. There is also a hedgehog society that you can investigate. I do not know the exact address, but google hedgehog and I am sure you will find it. Thanks for asking!!

I have heard that hedgehogs are excellent pets. The only tricky part is their diet can be challenging because it is reccomended that you feed them fresh foods as well as bagged prepared mixes.

All the ones I've met are friendly and there cages are to set up. They like to burrow, so a thick layer of aspen bedding is a must to keep one good and happy!
