Ive seen both. The Queen is defo the better film the acting is by far better thanks to Helen Mirren and yes it is about how the qeen dealt with Princess Diana's death. I thought Marie Antoninette was going to be far better than it was. Perhaps they should have spent more time on the sript and direction than they did on the lavish costumes and food. This film really isnt worth the watch. Hope thats helps!

I've seen "Marie Antoinette". Personal opinion -- save your money. It is quite easily the worst movie I've seen in the last decade or so. Lots of visual flash, lots of glitter, no plot or worthwhile performances whatsoever. Apparently, someone forgot to tell Sofie Coppola that a costume drama should really include SOME drama, costumes by themselves aren't enough...
If you're in the mood for a good costume drama, go find "Elizabeth", "Cyrano de Bergerac" (the one with Gerard Depardieu in the title role), "Ridicule" or "Dangerous Beauty". Don't waste your time with "Marie Antoinette". Even the few flashes of Kirsten Dunst's backside weren't enough to make up for the disappointment. :)

I saw Marie Antoinette, it was really great, Kirsten Dunst was perfect, and so was Jason Bateman as Louis. Kind of depressing, but it also had a lot of fun parts
