You know, I was really trying hard not to believe that the WWE had more respect than to try to make another version of The Rock, which they didn't do a very good job of if Cena is the new Rock. But with what they have Cena do with his "Five Knuckle Shuffle" (which is nowhere near as entertaining as "The People's Elbow") and them trying to make him rip on people like Dwayne used to do, I am starting to see they really might be. Let me tell you something, and this is for you preteens and others who didn't watch the "Attitude Era," NOBODY can be the Rock! Nobody ever was better at ripping on people and making them look like complete fools than the Rock, he was the King of smack talk in wrestling and always will be (watch this movie clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omPN4ZwATtk it is my favorite, It also shows how good Jericho was as well)! Also, the Rock was very athletic and (unlike Cena) came up with new moves evey once and a while. So don't compare the two because there is none!

The only comparison Cena has is to Vanilla Ice. Look at his whole look, listen to ow he raps, GARBAGE. his Debut Album flopped in stores, The Marine is not even considered a top action movie of the fall. and furthermore he kissed King Booker Feet.
But seriously he's a good gimmick thats it. his wrestling skills are inferior, and you're right the WWE was trying to build him up to be the next Rock. No one can work a mic like The Rock, the People Elbow and the Rock Bottom is way more exciting than the F-U which he stole from Brock lesnars F-5. and The Rock movies were and are more mainstream.
I'd rather buy the dvd episodes of Hogans Knows Best then go to the movies to watch John Cena.
Until these Cena Lovers give me facts on Cena and comparisons to Great Champions I will continue to wage the Anti -Cena Campaign

Does anyone remember Rocky Maievia before he became The Rock? When Dwayne started in the WWF, he was nowhere near the star he became, in spite of a huge push by the WWF. He got no pop as a babyface, and made a pretty poor heel. It was not util he got through the Nation of Domination gimmick that he started to show his real potential. Give Cena a chance to make his chops. Based on how far his character has developed, I think he still has huge potential.

ya not cool, Rock is a heroine and John Cena can't compare. Seriously John should do a Tag Team title run, too much wwe championship time. The fans are getting tired and bored of it.

Well ive seen the attitude era and where the rock may be king of smack talk .. lets not forget the phenom .. the big red machine . stone cold , mankind , marc mero , droz , albert ,the hardyz and micheal hayes , the acoylytes,, and many others ,, and vince and shane doing most of teh wrestling aswell .. well i can surely say if youve notice the "new raw" over the couple of weeks you would have noticed the raw zone logo is now back .. so fingers crossed the attitude era may be back

it seems that way, with Cena's popularity boom and his signature moves, it looks as if the WWE is building Cena's character in a much similar fashion they did with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. but i have to agree with most people... Cena (and most other WWE Superstars) can never be like The Rock. but Cena has his own charisma, his own style. he may not be like The Rock, but he still has millions (and millions) of fans worldwide. and that's more than enough for a WWE Superstar to look forward to.

Yeah, But the Rock did it mostly on is own. And the Rock is a way better Actor, Cena doesn't even fall in the catergory of acting. I didn't even see the movie, but the trailer already sucks, no matter what kind of famous actor/actress is also in the film.

The Rock is the most entertaining man in sports entertainment, period. But all that's gone now, and it's time to move on. That jerk doesn't give a damn about WWE anymore. He and Cena are almost the same, actually.

Ok the Rock was amazing and it's true no one can replace him or be like him and he was the best of trash talking and what not but John Cena is good as well, I think that they have equal status i mean i dont think John will ever be better then the Rock but i deffinaltly think he can be as great.

If preteens nevever watched the attitude era and dont know about the Rock I doubt they are comparing them to him.
