i'm 14 and i want to get my belly button pierced, but i don't know what a good age would be?

Dude.. wait till your 15... i waited until i was 16, and what these jokers seem to forget is that you can take it out and the hole will close up.. Do whatever feels right for you... you can always take it out

I got my belly button pierced at 14 and I did for myself and myself alone. That's the reason to do it. I don't currently still have the piercing because belly button piercings are the most likely to get infected, remember that. Infections are no fun. And before you get anything done make sure you go to a decent place who knows what they're doing. And definitely make sure you have your parent's permission because every decent place is going to require that one of your parents accompany you.

Also some places won't do certain piercings until you're a certain age, I had to wait until 16 to get my nose pierced. No big deal if you have to wait. Having an extra hole in your body really does quickly lose it's greatness. Maybe you're way cool and sexy at 14 with a belly button piercing but it won't always be that way. If you're doing it to be cool or be sexy then you really will regret it later. So think this through and make up your own mind about it. If you're asking people's advice online then I really don't think you're ready at this point. And whatever you do, don't even think about doing it yourself!

Don't do it yet. I think it's ultra-trashy to get a belly piercing when you're not even old enough to drive. Why would guys even be looking at your midriff when you're fourteen? Do you wear clothes that are slutty enough to show the piercing off normally?

Not to mention in can get extremely disgusting and infected, as most belly piercings tend to do. After you get it, if you wear itchy or tight fabrics, or someone throws a ball at your stomach, as people tend to do during P.E., which fourteen-year-olds have to take, you could really irritate the area.

So how many guys think it would be hot (not slutty) for you to have a giant infected hole leaking yellowy-green pus through your shirt?

wait till you're 18. i'm 15 now and my mom will literally kick me out of the house if she finds out that i did it behind her back. i pierced my lip without her permission last year and she found out. it's never a good idea to get anything done before age 18. just hold tight for a few more years!!

piercings and tattoos are a right of passage for kids who want to think they are adults - not just ornamentation in this country like it is in others (india) - so everyone saying "its for guys" or "its slutty" DONT HATE!! other people just think of it as body ornamentation or a way to symbolize an event or special time in your life. Do it when you have something adult and real to celebrate about or when you want to ornament your body for sexual attention. It is something that guys are sometimes attracted to, and that might not be a great idea for a 14-15 yr old. I would wait until you don't have to go with your parents (it sucks anyways) and you are ready for that kind of attention.

if you want to get your belly button peirced thats cool, i dont think youre too young for that, but remember you do need an adult present... and also fyi, i think the whole belly button ring is getting kinda old...one of those things that everyones done so who cares anymore. if your only 14 you dont need to look hot yet!!!! Oh my! My daughter is 2 and i am so scared! geez. Anyways, if you are doing it because YOU want to and not to get a guy, then do it now, you can always take it out if you decide you don't like it. Do what makes you feel good honey.
