Making a good first impression means everything!
Show up on time, be dressed for success. Listen to the person training you! They may or may not be a superior, Department manager or floor supervisor. They could simply be another retail sales person given the duty to explain the business of retail.
Give an OK or "I understand" to whatever they are instructing you upon. Add-lib ONLY whatever compliments their instructions! Don't add personal comments , unless they are flattering to the trainer.
Display your knowledge, but don't be condescending. Allow the trainer to fully explain the company policies/procedures/rules. Comment on the atmosphere, any displays or show-cases as being very innovative and imaginative.
DON"T inquire as to breaks or lunch hours.
NEVER give personal information, don't discuss your family/boyfriend/husband/kids.
Remain professional. Ask questions.
NEVER be intimidated by a trainer. THEY are also an employee!
Relax by picturing the person NUDE. Old time rule for public speaking! It will take the edge off any uncomfortable situation and keep you focused.
Don't be nervous! Show your confidence by participating in the training.
At the end of the training session, thank the person, shake their hand with a firm grip, "thank you very much, I know I will be a great asset due to all your help." (or whatever feels comfortable)
That might sound lame, but believe me, even the most seasoned trainer will take it into account.
Good luck to tomorrow..................

Listen; the WORST that could happen- is that it doesn't work out. It won't be the end of the world as you know it. Jobs come & go -& so will you! So be nice to that training person, give the experience your best shot, and see what happens. Once you get into the job- you'll relax & be fine. Good luck! :)

Just be yourself. Remember you already have the job so they obviously thought you have the potential of being a good employee. I wouldn't worry about it. The person training you is there to do just that...train you. They don't really expect you to know what you are doing yet. Be friendly, but not overly friendly as to seem fake.

Take it easy. be friendly to the boss and coworkers as the first step. Listen all points these people are telling. Obeying the correct instructions even if they are minor will help to get a good start.

Dress with success...stand straight and look self assured. Dont look insecure. Insecurity looks weak and turns people off quickly. Appear very interested. Ask questions.. people love it when you appear to be interested. Dont slouch! Smile alot. And give a firm handshake.. :)

Be yourself and take a deep breath. If you can be as comfortable as possible, it helps, so calm your heart rate down to a normal rate with deep breaths and be yourself so you are in your normal zone. Comfort and calmness are the key.

Just be yourself. Don't try to be someone that you're not. People will like you better when they know that you're not fake. Good Luck!
