im scared, i think he might die, he is a dwarf russian hamster, and he squeaks alot to get what he wants, never fights, he has one cage mate, another male named stalin, stalin, his friend, doesnt give into gorby's demands, so his squeaking has no effect on him, its cute, if they arent fighting. the problem now is, gorby started out yesterday making this clicking noise, i thought it was him clicking his teeth, like a rat, well, now i see his back moving up and down, like hes sneezing, and it is him making mini but rapid sneezes, he steped into a small puddle earlier, but only to get his paws wet, not his body, it seems like he had diahreah, only its not liquidy, but its not firm, its kinda soft, but not like squishy. i dont know what to do, i cant afford another vet trip, im still recovering from my last one. he also has been abused, kinda of a rescue, check my other questions for more info.its gorby, the squeaky one that im having problems with.

Diahreah is a sign of wet tail... they make a special vitamin at the pet stores to give to hamsters as treats try that...

as for the sneezing, it might be a respitory thing and the only thing you might do is seperate them temporarilly so the other one doesn't get sick... then try to keep the sick hamster in a sterile enviroment, keep it on a heating pad or something to keep it warm. try no to let it get humid inside the cage, and let him in there for a week or two and see if he gets better.

Humidity causes RI (respitory infections) in small animals

if he sneezes often he probably has a cold of some type and needs a vet. is there any scratching/runny eyes? could be allergic to something. what kind of bedding r u using? make sure it's carefresh and/or aspen. have u added anything new to his area? is he eating/drinking ok? if it's just occasionally it's normal.

where was a puddle that u mentioned and what was it of? there shouldnt be any puddles in their cage. what r u feeding them? dwarfs dont get wettail too often but it can have diarrhea. make sure u arent feeding him any fruits (they get diabetes often) no more fresh foods for now if he has diarrhea. r they near a drafty area---like a door or window? if so move them.

good luck

i does no longer hardship, my hamster sneezes each now and then! it is so cute! yet while he has little sneezes right here and there, I in simple terms supply him greater sparkling meals, like shavings of carrot and cucumber, it perks him up slightly. in simple terms confirm you supply him some greater desirable bedding because it gets less warm.
