Please check your network interface cards(NIC) driver first. is it installed properly. I think you have to install your ethernet card driver and it will solve your problem and if not the please specify the operating system you are using

IF U CANT SEE A LAN UNDER NETWORK CONNECTIONS YOU NEED TO INSTALL/UPDATE THE DRIVER OF YOUR NETWORK ADAPTER OR ALSO CALLED AS NETWORK INTERFACE CARD...IF YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE ADPATER PROPERLY U CAN THEN SEE A LAN AND TO CHECK IF YOUR NIC IS WORKING PROPERLY AND WAS ABLE TO COMMUNICATE W/ UR MDM FIRST BY GOING TO CONTROL PANEL OPEN UP SYSTEMS CLICK HARDWARE AND THEN CLICK ON DEVICE MANAGER THEN CLICK FOR NETWORK ADAPTER VERIFY THE DEVICE STATUS IF ITS WORKING PROPERLY THEN DO IPCONFIGURATION IF UR GETTING AN IP ADD EXCEPT FOR AN IP ADD THAT STRTS W/ 169 THEN EVERYTHING IS GOOD

Setup the wizard 'Network Set up Wizard' by going to the contriol panel.
