I have a party to go to on saturday and am having trouble coming up with an ideas on a costume. I was a cheerleader last year so I am not cross-dressing again this year. I also can go with my housemate and be a pair of characters. If you could add possible ways to make the costume that would be great

Ok...this costume is funny, but kinda sad at the same time. So if I offend you, I'm sorry! A friend of mine dressed up as Roy from Seigfried and Roy (basically wear some tight pants and a shinny dress shirt with some buttons open). Then he bought a stuffed white tiger, and was somehow able to tape it to the collor of his shirt, which he ripped apart. Then he added some "blood", to make it look liked he had been attacked. People loved it, even though it was really sad what happened. Sorry if you don't like the idea, but good luck if you do!

This can be addapted and modified to be a wizard costume
Last year I saw on the Martha Stewart show how they made a witches costume from black garbage bags and duct tape.
you need the drawstring bags. one they cut a slit in the area under the drawstrings so it was a bit longer and they cut ,in a zig zag, the bottom part of the bag off, that part is used for another part of the costume.
this one is for the top half of the costume. It is put on like a tube top with the drawstrings as the shoulder straps. pull and tie to fit.
don't worry about the strings coz they get covered later.
then another bag is cut to be the skirt, zig zag like the first and that is tied around the waist. Duct tape as much as needed to keep the top and bottom together.

they also cut a third bag in half to be the sleeves...they used duct tape to hold things in place. Just tape the sleves to the top.
the cut off parts are used to make the cape and they pulled on the zig zag points to stretch them.(also did on skirt)
It was pretty cool and waterproof but you may need scissors to cut the costume off when done.
I hope I explained enough for you to figure out how to do it.
a half dozen bags and tape are cheap especially if you already have them around

where you cut the zig zag depends on your size.
the sleeves bag is cut down the sides so one half the drawstring can be each sleve gather at the neck...
cut and fit the dress to size.
just add a hat and your good to go.

I went to a party once, and one dude dressed up as a toy robot. He had boxes spray painted red and worn on his head, torso, feet, had two small eyeholes cut out of the box he had over his face, and wore red sweatpants, sweatshirt, and gloves. What was golden was how he had to drink his beer through a small hole over his mouth with a straw when he had that costume on! The ladies loved it, the guys were jealous, it was the funniest thing...

u could be a box of popcorn.
it sounds kinda corny! haha corny...anyways but it is very different and no1 ever does it. i did it a few years back and i got so many compliments, its homemade so it is also cheap. you make a box around you out of think poster board and decorate it like a popcorn box then u would wear all white and a white hat and glue popcorn pieces to the top with a hot glue gun. and glue some popcorn on the side of the box. its the best costume ever just dont try to sit down.

Wish you would consider cross dressing again -- go as a "housewife" -- robe, slippers, curlers, cold cream on your face, the whole nine yards.

But since your question vetoed that idea, how about a nerd -- like Steve Urkel type -- high water pants, pocket protector, duck tape on the glasses, etc.? And let your housemate do the cross dressing as a prom queen?

I went to a party a few weeks ago, and one of my friends dressed up as a beer bottle. He got the costume from a party store. If you can't go to the party store, why not wear black pants and a black tee and tape stuff, like socks and underwear to you, and be static cling? Or, some aluminum foil to be leftovers. Some cheap ideas!

be a one night stand. Make a night stand out of cardboard and tape the number 1 on your chest and back, or to make it even funnier make it a 2 night stand =D
