Thats funny from the poster above.. "the democrats are for the working man and the republicans are for making the rich get richer."

WRONG.

Both parties are for ONE thing: re-election. and.. as long as they can keep simple minded people on one side or the other.. as long as they can satiate the masses by spewing their crap and one of the two parties is in power.. they are BOTH happy. Very few politicians follow their heart.. even less actually "represent the people"

Teach her about your morals, values (whatever they may be) teach her about life. she will find her own way in politics better because of that wisdom... not from some bi-partisan talking points.

Its time to take back America by voting for PEOPLE not PARTIES.

You could tell her that politics was once a very noble thing. Where a person could become a civil servant for the good of the nation.

Fast forward many years to current times and you have the new politics: power and corruption.

my advice, tell her to stay away from politics.

It's best to let her make up her own mind. I don't know what your viewpoints are, but The O'Reilly Factor for Kids is a very good read. It's very insightful without being inflammatory or full of rhetoric.

If that's a little "young" for her, I recommend any of his books. They give you a clear picture of what's going on in today's political climate. Culture Warrior is the newest.

Keep her educated. There are voting records that can be viewed online. This site gives records for all officials regarding how they have voted, etc. I find it extremely useful when sorting through all of the propaganda and slander that's in the media. http://www.vote-smart.org/index.htm

teach her to think, and not to be a sheepel as most Americans are, to research her political partners and to vote and to be an American, and be sure to impress on her that politics are a dirty game played by the dirtiest of all dirt bags and all are owned by the same masters, so when she doe's vote make sure she votes for the one she feels is a real American and will uphold the American values, not some one because if his party or lies

To look at the issues, consider each side's pro and cons, then decide FOR HERSELF what she thinks is important and right. You're not doing her any favors, or being a very good parent, if you try to unduly influence her one way or another. Teach her to think critically, and to think for herself, and know that you did the best thing you could for her in this, whether she votes your way or not.

First, she needs to find out where she stands and what she believes.
About how important it is to vote and not to just vote for and on what other people tell her to. Tell her that she needs do research on the candidates and to look at they’re voting record and most importantly to not be afraid to ask/email question’s to the candidates.
I hope this helps.

The best thing to teach your daughter is to stay out of politics at any cost. All she needs to know is that Democrats are for helping the "working man," and Republicans are for helping the rich get richer.

remind her that she should vote based on her own personal preference and that she should vote because her foremothers fought for her right to vote! this topic is not studied enough in school and maybe you guys as a family could research the trials and tribulations that woman had to go through in order to get the right to vote.

Be informed about the issues, know the facts (not the propoganda), and vote responsibly by making educated decisions and not being one of the sheep.

Tell her that its actually umimportant whether she votes or not, unless she actually "believes" that her vote counts, then she should! Only by being a believer in the process can you go through it year after year intact and unharmed by its ugliness.

Also, tell her that her heart will lead her to vote for whom she wants and not her intellect. However, she should never consider Republicans/Democrats/Libertarians to be "them" since we are ALL AMERICANS and want (only through different methods) what's best for everyone!
