The following denominations are most supportive of gay members, including ordaining and hiring gay clergy: Metropolitan Community Church, United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist Church, The Episcopal Church. In addition, individual congregations of the following churches are accepting of gay members: United Methodist Church, American Baptist Church, The Presbyterian Church, The Lutheran Church.

Even if your congregation is not accepting, every large denomination has within its membership an organization that both supports gay members and tries to promote acceptance of gay people to the policy makers within the denomination. You can find a list of these resources at the following website:

One answer even speculated that there grew to become into this variety of concern as a liberal or average Islam. specific, there is, yet something of the Muslims do no longer evaluate them from now on than infidels. Like Christianity and Judaism, Islam is obtainable in lots of flavors. No more myself, but thanks for posting that. As a wiccan member of the GLBTQQIA community I haven't had a need for those and have had a hard time recommending people to pro-gay christian groups.

You forgot the Quakers and even the Seventh Day Adventists.

The Quakers have always been at the forefront of all human/civil rights fights! They stick up of the rights of all human beings as equal in God's eyes!

The Seventh Day Adventists, although not a politically active group, will not turn away gays and lesbians from their congregations or employment in any network they run.

My partner has been employed with them for over fifteen years and has been "out" to her employers just as long. They love her and do a lot to make her feel welcomed there.

I'm really sick of these "so-called-Christians" who conveniently forget that the Old Testiment's Mosaic/Levitical Laws do not apply to Christians. Jesus died for our sins, he came and died and in doing so fulfilled the Old Testiment's prophesies. He had ONLY one Mandate for those who believed in him: "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
That was it.
None of this "thou shalt not lie with a man as with a woman fir it is an abomination." Nope, that was OT stuff and He made it moot!

Christians need to remember that there is NO sin in LOVE.
There is NO sin in BEING LOVED.
There is NO sin in being in a Committed, Loving relationship!

Not once is it written anywhere in the bible, anything disparaging about committed, loving homosexual relationships! Not one word!
Not once is it written anywhere in the Bible where Jesus said ANYHING against homosexuals, homosexual relationships, or homosexuality. NOT ONE WORD!

These "So-called-Christians" who say that being gay is a sin, know nothing of love. They pick and choose what parts of the Bible they FEEL like following, they make judgements about people they know NOTHING about, they LIE, Preach HATE, continue ignorance and intolerance!
They're ANYTHING but "christian!"
