It all depends on whether it is ethical to own a whale or whether one considers the captivity of Shamu to make money as being a form of slavery. Even if one considers it to be ethical to enslave Shamu, it still be questionable whether it would be ethical for the owners to kill Shamu. Even more questionable whether it is ethical for them to eat Shamu.

All in all, it comes down to the question of whether property rights over animals, such as whales, conveys power over that animal or whether one's power is limited.

My own position is that the captivity of Shamu is slavery and they should release the whale back into the wild immediately.

First of all isnt he dead? And you may be giving Michael Jackson ideas be careful. ha ha ha It would be disgusting because whale blubber is God awful taste. Eskimos eat blubber and it is proven to be good for their health but soy is alot better tasting. For survivol purposes we all would be cannibals if need be but man o' man eating a whale is like eating a human and both are definately unethical. Okay but I have to ask are you drinking Mescal or Green Chartreuse? ha ha
