I have a sony s710a and have insurance, If i claim its lost and get the w600 since the s710a is discontinued, and w600 is the newer model, then sell the one they send.

Then i plan to buy a Motorola A1200 Unlocked GSM phone, how will i get it set up? since i claimed the phone lost, If use just pop is the sim, will it not cause them to be susupicious?

What you are proposing is dishonest and illegal. Many people try it though and will be caught out by the operator. The operator will however always bar both the phone (IMEI) and the SIM (IMSI) so you can't use either. They also do secondary checks like: is the current user of the old handset calling similar numbers to the original owner - if so the phone is unlikely to be lost.

Suggest you stay well clear of this.
