Good Day. Are u trying to upgrade to windows XP? if so, XP Setup has the option to format everything
If not, create a Boot disk or when u are booting from the cd, click start windows with CD Rom support if i remember correctly. Then type in Format C: or change the drive letter to yur cd rom drive letter they gave you eg X. You type in X:\> and press enter and then type in Format C:
If that doesnt work, type in FDISK Instead and u will see yur user partition/s Delete all and recreate. When u exit, setup cd will format and den ME Setup will run.
Hope it works man. Laterz!

you should upgrade to win Xp sp 2, and heres why,, this year microsoft, discontinued all support for its win95,98,Me,and Xp sp 1 Oper systems,, you can only get updates and support from what is already on the system,, no updates or customer support for these systems will ever be available again,, go to microsoft.com and read the articles,,
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/support/endofsupport.mspx
,, and when using Xp home or pro w/sp2 all drivers are located online, where as 98 and Me dont have that option, only check on comp files,, also xp is so much more user friendly , the downloads are much more streamlined and its made for todays internet!!! just do yourself a favor,, make sure you have enough Hd Drive space, xp takes up to close to 2 gb of space, where 98 and Me take up about 500-700 mb,,, get an upgrade package at any major comp store,, and you can get it for about $99 ... its worth it

First you will need to create a boot disk. Insert a floppy disk in your drive, go into my computer, right click ond go to format. There is a check mark that says make this disk bootable if I remember. Then boot up your computer with the disk in and type format c: (you dont want the backslash after it) and press enter.
Alternativly if you have a Windows disk, you can boot your computer up with that disk and choose to format before you install Windows ME again.
However you want to make sure that you have the drivers for your hardware first (network card, modem, video card, sound etc.). Good luck.

(Create a windows startup disk) Start->Run->Conrol Panel->Add/Remove Programs, choose 'Create Disk'
Reboot your computer with the floppy, and at the prompt, type FDISK . You can see your partitions, delete some or all if you wish to create new partition sizes. If you wish to keep the partition sizes the same, you can just type Format C:, or whichever drive letter you wish to wipe out.
Windows 98 Second Edition is far better than ME.

Just put the WinME Installation disk in and follow the instructions. It will do the formatting for you. If you don't have a WinME disk, then what are you planning to use. Whatever it is, put that disk in, instead. good luck :-)
