im doing reseach on whether universities should consider students GPA and activites by where students live seeing that some areas have more oportunities than others. im looking for facts that can argue that universities should make it fair for people with less oportunitesin their highschools like clubs, AP classes, etc..

any sites that can help me out? thanks in advance

GPA don't account for much. you can have a kid who's really smart but doesn't study getting straight A's and a 4.0 GPA, or you could have someone dedicated to their work, yet only getting a 3.3 GPA or whatever. as to the extra curriculars, they should definitly take into account where people live, even whether or not they can afford extra curriculars, most extra curriculars require a lot of time, parent volunteering and/or money, some people simply don't have the resources!

I hope this infor helps you. I know that state colleges are very good about taking into consideration location so they can aptly say they are serving the whole state.
